Daniella Fayad (aka Teeth) is an artist hailing from Southern California. She has a double Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and Ancient Egyptian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley where she fed into her obsession of ancient cultures and mythologies. Starting with pencil and paper, she was an illustrator who morphed into a sculptor, and now creates puppets for film. From multi-string marionettes to the complex workings of stop motion puppets, Teeth is a self-taught puppet maker and puppeteer who uses her medium to tell tales she’s written.

“I create puppets with bits of clay, wire and cloth, I take the winding universes and tiny monsters that are roaming the inside of my skull and breathe life into them. My obsession with puppets and story building started as a tiny tot. I’d watch classic black and white films that showcased a stop motion adventure or two. I was so enamored with their jerky movements and rich lore that I knew I wanted to replicate them. At the age of 6, I built a giant cardboard theatre that somehow held on to dear life with miles of masking tape, a stapler and layers of paint. I crafted marionettes that danced on shoestrings and performed Old Russian and Scandinavian fairy tales for unsuspecting visiting family and friends.”
