Daniella Fayad (aka Teeth) is an artist hailing from Southern California. She has a double Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Archaeology and Ancient Egyptian Mythology from the University of California, Berkeley, where she fed into her obsession of ancient cultures and mythologies. Starting as an illustrator who morphed into a sculptor, she is now a traveling puppet peddler who conjures entire worlds of eccentric, hand-sculpted creatures that whisper cautionary tales for the unfortunate damned. Each puppet is meticulously crafted - stitched, sculpted, and haunted with its own eerie lore. One string at a time, they spread joy, mayhem, and a little madness.
“I create puppets with bits of clay, wire, and cloth. I take the winding universes and tiny monsters that are roaming the inside of my skull and breathe life into them. My obsession with puppets and story building started as a tiny tot. I’d watch classic black and white films that showcased a stop motion adventure or two. I was so enamored with their jerky movements and rich lore that I knew I wanted to replicate them. At the age of 6, I built a giant cardboard theatre that somehow held on to dear life with miles of masking tape, a stapler, and layers of paint. I crafted marionettes that danced on shoestrings and performed Old Russian and Scandinavian fairy tales for unsuspecting visiting family and friends.”
